Carotid Sinus (Baroreceptor) Location

Carotid sinus baroreceptors are present on both sides of the neck, in the arterial wall region at the carotid bifurcation (distal common carotid artery at the origin of the internal and external carotid arteries). [1][2] Anatomic descriptions place the carotid sinus at the bifurcation of the right and left common carotid arteries. [1][2]

Laterality

Both the right and the left carotid bifurcations contain carotid sinus baroreceptors. [1][2]
