Risperdal Consta (risperidone microspheres) Initiation After Stable Oral Risperidone
Risperdal Consta can be started by administering the first injection at the time of LAI initiation while continuing oral risperidone supplementation. [1] Oral risperidone should be continued for 3 weeks after the first injection of Risperdal Consta, followed by discontinuation of oral supplementation. [1]
Oral Supplementation Schedule With First Injection
Oral risperidone (including stable oral dosing such as 3 mg/day) should be given with the first Risperdal Consta injection. [1] Oral supplementation should be continued through the 3-week period after the first injection. [1] Oral supplementation should then be discontinued after the 3-week overlap period. [1]
